Chicago Cubs first baseman
Anthony Rizzo won the Louisville Sluggers' Silver Slugger award for first base in the National League on Thursday night.
Rizzo batted .292 with 32 homers, 43 doubles, and 109 RBIs this season. He also won his first Glove Glove Award earlier in the week. The last Cubs player to win the Gold Glove Award and Silver Slugger Award in the same year was Derrek Lee in 2005. The other Cubs players that have done that prestigious double is Andre Dawson in 1987 and Ryne Sandberg (6 different times). .@tigers 1B @MiguelCabrera & @Cubs 1B @ARizzo44 take home the @sluggernation #SilverSlugger awards! pic.twitter.com/oES1ILgiNH .@ARizzo44 wins his first career #SilverSlugger Award! ?????? pic.twitter.com/wB1UYDkVbU
