by - Senior Writer -

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward picked an opportune time to come alive at the plate, with his red-hot hitting in the Cubs' series versus the Milwaukee Brewers helping a struggling Chicago club right the ship. In the top of the eighth on Saturday, Heyward clubbed his second home run of the game and third of the series.

Careening off the bat at an angle of 22 degrees, the solo blast traveled 415 feet over the wall in center field and put the Cubs ahead 8-5. It sparked a 7-run inning for the Cubs and made Heyward a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI on the night. Entering the series, Heyward had zero home runs and three RBI on the season. Following the eighth-inning dinger on Saturday night, he boasted three home runs and eight RBI.
