High school student athlete MacKenzie Gore (Whiteville HS, Whiteville, NC) and his teammates were practicing on Wednesday when they were interrupted by a lawn mower.

Little did they know, the driver was former Chicago Cub Kerry Wood who drove over and awarded Gore with the 2016-2017 Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year trophy.
