Cubs assign six pitchers to minors

MESA – The Chicago Cubs have assigned six players to minor league camp, reducing their spring roster from 66 to 60 players.

Six non-roster invitees have been assigned to minor league camp: Right-handed pitchers Andury Acevedo, Daniel Corcino, Fernando Rodriguez and Ryan Williams; and left-handed pitchers Gerardo Concepcion and Manny Parra.

Chicago’s spring roster of 60 players consists of 34 pitchers (10 non-roster invitees), six catchers (two non-roster invitees), 12 infielders (five non-roster invitees) and eight outfielders (three non-roster invitees).
