Cubs release three players on Tuesday

by -

The Cubs release infielder Munenori Kawasaki, left-handed pitcher Manny Parra and veteran outfielder Shane Victorino on Tuesday according to multiple reports.

The Cubs are actively trying to re-sign all three players but were released so the team would not have to pay a $100,000 retention bonus per player.

The trio were non-roster invitees to the big league camp, and 32 players are now left on the Cubs active roster.
