Cubs News: Epstein on possibly trading Soler: "We don't have any untouchables"

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs won their first World Series since 1908, but Cubs management Theo Epstein, and Jed Hoyer were in Arizona during Winter meetings on Wednesday to try to improve their team for 2017.

A reporter asked if Cubs young outfielder Jorge Soler might be shopped during the meetings for some pitching.

“We don’t have any untouchables,” Epstein said of Soler. “But I still think there’s a lot more in there. He hasn’t had a season yet where he’s put it all together. It’s so obviously in him.”

Soler batted .238 with 12 homers, 31 RBIs, and an on-base percentage of .333 on the season. During the postseason, he had only two hits with 13 at-bats and three walks.
