The Chicago Cubs, fresh off a rain-shortened 3-1 homestand against the Brewers (2-0) and Braves (1-1), tonight begin a three-game series against the Pirates in Pittsburgh … following this series, the Cubs return home for a

10-game homestand against the Washington Nationals (4 games, starting Thursday), San Diego Padres (3 games, starting next Monday) and the Pirates (3 games, beginning May 13).

Jason Heyward (.211, 0 HR, 13 RBI) is out of the lineup after going 0-for-17 in his last four games following a five-game stretch in which he batted .500 (10-for-20) with five walks. Heyward has told the Cubs he's been bothered by the wrist since the first week of the season.
