WATCH: Lester with horrific throw to 1st base |
Chicago Cubs veteran pitcher
Jon Lester had a solid pitching performance in the Cubs 2-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon as he went 7 1/3 inning and only gave up a single run on four hits while striking out ten batters.
However, Lester still can't control his past demons with his throws to first base as he had one of the ugliest plays in recent memory. Lester had a good sense of humor on Monday as he tweeted that he thought the play should be in consideration for a web gem. Tough one yesterday but felt good out there. Bummed I didn't get a web gem for my throw to first, @BBTN what gives? #LetsGo #NVRQT Secret to pitching? Throw ground balls. https://t.co/3n17wd3rLY pic.twitter.com/WqAg9MUvnO For the season, Lester is 1-1 with a 2.21 ERA and a low 0.84 WHIP.
