WATCH: Jason Heyward swats two-run blast off Jon Lester |
CHICAGO — Making former teammate
Jon Lester's return to Wrigley Field a little less special for "Big Jon," Chicago Cubs right fielder
Jason Heyward placed Lester, now of the Washington Nationals, into a 3-0 hole on Monday. Heyward slugged a two-run homer out to left at Wrigley Field, with Nats left fielder
Kyle Schwarber, another erstwhile Cub, having to watch the ball sail out over his head.
The 374-footer followed a leadoff single by third baseman Matt Duffy in the bottom of the second. Heyward's fourth dinger of the year, the opposite-field blast left the bat at 101.5 mph and 24 degrees. It marked the first home run given by Lester as a National, with Heyward powering out an 89.4-mph four-seamer.
