Cubs News: Pedro Strop being held out of camp after violating COVID-19 protocols

by - Senior Editor -

The "hats to the left" slogan will have to be put on hold.

Cubs veteran reliever Pedro Strop is being held out of Cubs camp because he violated COVID-19 protocols.

Strop was seen in a post hanging with Franmil Reyes of the Cleveland Indians on Instagram, which violates baseball's protocols in 2021. The picture has since been deleted.

Reyes is also being held out of Indians camp while he isolates away from teammates and staffers.

Strop will now have to isolate himself (likely a week or more) before returning to baseball activities.

Hopefully, soon, MLB players will get back to their normalcy where they live in a hotel room in isolation from friends and family. We are getting close with so many vaccines starting to flood the market.

Not a great idea for Stropy to miss time like this for someone that needed to impress to make the team as a non-roster invitee.
