Cubs dominating All-Star balloting so far |
The Cubs (35-15) should be represented well for the 2016 MLB All-Star game on July 12 in San Diego as their die-hard fans have voted in massive amounts for their National League Central-leading team.
Anthony Rizzo is currently the top vote-getter with 874,471 votes. For the season, Rizzo is batting .236 with 11 homers, 37 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .377. Impressively, three other Cubs players are leading vote-getters in their respective positions: Kris Bryant has 776,107 votes, Ben Zobrist has 732,519 votes and Addison Russell has 544,240 votes. Dexter Fowler is second among National League outfielders with 797,160 votes while Jason Heyward is fourth with 476,595 votes despite his disappointing offensive start to the season. The voting will end on Thursday, June 30, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Fans can vote up to five times in any 24-hour period for a maximum of 35 times.
