Kris Bryant signs pre-arbitration contract with Cubs

KB is one rich ballplayer for the Cubs.

Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant has reportedly agreed to a one-year guaranteed deal worth $12.9 million in his second year being eligible for arbitration. His MLBTR salary projection was $12.4 million.

Bryant made $10,850,000 last season.

The move was made to avoid arbitration for both sides and today at 12 p.m. CT was the deadline for new salaries for arbitration-eligible players including Cubs players Javier Baez, C.J. Edwards, Kyle Schwarber, Kyle Hendricks, Mike Montgomery, and others. All seven players signed with the Cubs and none will be headed to arbitration.

Bryant hit .272 with 13 homers and 52 RBIs last season despite being plagued with shoulder inflammation.

For his career, he has batted .285 with 107 homers and 326 RBIs.
