Cubs News: Nico Hoerner injury update

by - Senior Editor -

Not ideal news for Cubs fans for one of their team's elite prospects.

Nico Hoerner will miss at least a month with a hairline fracture in his wrist according to Cubs President Theo Epstein on Monday.

Hoerner will likely rehab in Arizona and be back at some point in July for the Double-A Tennessee Smokies.

For the season, he was batting .300 with a homer and six RBI in 18 games. This has been a setback obviously this season as he was progressing so fast up the organizational ladder. Hopefully, he can get healed up good and finish strong for the Smokies for the rest of the season.

He was drafted by the Cubs in the first round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
