CHICAGO — As part of a 5-run fifth inning that resulted in the Chicago Cubs taking a commanding 6-1 lead over the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field on Saturday, Cubs shortstop Javier Baez smacked a 2-run double. Having to go down on one knee in order to swing at the low pitch, Baez connected and sent the baseball flying down the third baseline.

White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada dove toward the ball, which flew past him and into left field. The pitch from White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito was thrown at the bottom of the strike zone, but Baez went down for it and made perfect contact. Putting the Cubs up 5-1 with the 2-bagger, Baez scored Addison Russell and Kyle Schwarber and chased Giolito from the game.
