Cubs announce spring debuts for Lester, Arrieta, Hendricks

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs won their first World Series since 1908 and one of the main reasons was the superb yet healthy starting pitching the team had on display throughout the season.

Joe Maddon announced recently the Spring schedule debut for his talented core of starting pitching with Kyle Hendricks pitching on Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Dodgers and it will air on WGN-TV. Next up, veteran ace Jon Lester will get the nod on Sunday against the Texas Rangers while Jake Arrieta will face the Los Angeles Angels on Monday.

Finally, John Lackey will face Team Italy on Tuesday in a World Baseball Classic preliminary game at Sloan Park.

Baseball is just around the corner as the regular season is only one month away.
