Cubs prospect Eloy Jimenez has won the MiLBY Award for Breakout Prospect of the Year announced on Monday.
Jimenez hit .329 with 14 home runs, three triples, 40 doubles, 81 RBIs, and eight steals in 112 games this season. He was also awarded Midwest League MVP and Cubs Minor League Player of the Year for these impressive offensive numbers. He has been working in left field and right field during the season but the Cubs would like for him to improve his defense enough to be a reliable option as a right fielder at the next level.
