Braves announcer Jeff Francoeur came under fire recently especially by Cubs fans was some remarks he said about All-Star catcher Willson Contreras during a broadcast in the Cubs-Braves series.

Francoeur said during the telecast that he wish he would have punched Contreras back in 2016 during a scuffle.

"Quite frankly, I wish I had just thrown a haymaker and been done with it," Francoeur said. “If I knew that was my last year, I would have."

However, on Friday, Francoeur backtracked a little when interviewed by TMZ Sports.

"If you go listen to it, I actually said it more joking. I laughed while I said it. It was fun."

He went on to say that Contreras was "a hell of a player."
