Cubs activate Craig Kimbrel

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today activated right-handed pitcher Craig Kimbrel off of the 10-day injured list. Kimbrel will be available for the Cubs tonight when they begin their four-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field.

Kimbrel, 31, was placed on the injured list with right elbow inflammation on September 5. He has gone 0-2 with 13 saves and a 5.68 ERA (12 ER/19.0 IP) in 21 relief appearances with the Cubs this season.
