CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs will battle the Los Angeles Dodgers in game one of the NLCS at 7:08 p.m. CDT on Saturday night televised on TBS.
Lefty Jose Quintana will start for the defending World Champions opposed by standout Clayton Kershaw. Quintana only had 12 pitches in his relief appearance on Thursday night against the Washington Nationals and it was on his normal bullpen session. During the 2017 postseason, Quintana has pitched 6.1 total innings giving up three hits, one unearned run, two walks, and seven strikeouts. Since joining the Cubs, he has a 3.74 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 14 starts. In 2017, Quintana has an 11-11 record with 4.15 ERA with 207 strikeouts and 1.22 WHIP. For this career, Quintana has a 57-57 record with 3.53 ERA with 988 strikeouts and 1.24 WHIP. On the other side, Kershaw was 18-4 with a 2.31 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 175 total innings this season. One Cubs batter that has had success is Rizzo going 5-for-14 lifetime with two homers. Outfielders Ben Zobrist and Jason Heyward are not in the starting lineup in favor of Jay and Schwarber.
