The Chicago Cubs (30-29) will battle the first-place Colorado Rockies (39-23) at 1:20 p.m. CDT on Friday afternoon televised on CSN Chicago. Mike Montgomery will take the mound for the defending World Champions.
One lineup note is that shortstop Addison Russell is replaced in the starting lineup with Javy Baez for the third straight game. Major league baseball is investigating domestic violence allegations with Russell. However, Russell is active and on the bench available to pinch-hit today.
