Cubs News: Brett Anderson injury update

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton  ·  Senior Editor ·

Cubs starting pitcher Brett Anderson threw a bullpen session on Tuesday for the first time since landing on the disabled list with back issues. Anderson is feeling great injury-wise and will be headed to Arizona to continue rehab and throw to live batters on Wednesday according to multiple reports.

Anderson was booed heavily by the Wrigley Field faithful in his last home start and has allowed a crazy 19 runs in only 22 innings pitched as a newcomer this season with the Cubs. In his last two games, he has gotten only five total outs, given up 12 runs, and allowed 13 hits.

Hopefully, this extended spring training tune up will help him turn around his start with the Cubs.
