Cubs News: Contreras helped off field with injury |
Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras was injured during Wednesday's game as he trying to leg out an infield single in the seventh inning.
It appeared that his right hamstring gave way half way down the baseline. He walked gingerly off the field with the help the Cubs training staff. A mild hamstring injury usually takes a few weeks to get well so it is good news that the Cubs have backup catcher Alex Avila in the fold recently. Hopefully, it is a sprain for Contreras and not a tear of any kind. We will update you with more information when it is released from Cubs officials. The Cubs have lost six out of their last eight games. Check out the video below of the play. Uh oh. Willson Contreras exits Wednesday's game after suffering a leg injury running to first.
