Cubs legend Fergie Jenkins is getting an extraordinary honor.

Jenkins announced that he was told that he is getting a statue outside of Wrigley for the 2022 season.

"Last week, I got word from the Cubs organization that I will be receiving a statue outside of Wrigley Field next season. I am deeply honored to share this with my family, friends, and teammates. But most of all, I share this with you, the Cubs fans, and I say to you, "Meet me at the Fergie Statue" next year so we can celebrate together!"

This is really awesome news that the Cubs are recognizing one of their best ambassadors to play the game. The four-time All-Star and 1971 CY Young award winner is also one of the friendliest and nicest men you can ever meet.

For his career, he won 284 games, amassed 3,192 strikeouts, and had an amazing 267 complete games with 49 shutouts.

The location of the statue is yet to be determined outside Wrigley Field.
