The Chicago Cubs announced that Jon Lester will be activated on Saturday to start against the Atlanta Braves.

The team was encouraged after his 50-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday. Lester has been out since August 17 with left shoulder fatigue and a lat injury.

In 2017, Lester has an 8-7 record with 4.37 ERA with 155 strikeouts and a 1.27 WHIP. The Cubs have been on a roll since his absence with a 72-60 record and dominated the Pirates 17-3 on Wednesday night.
