Cubs News: Justin Steele leaves Opening Day start with leg injury

Tough news for the Man of Steele.

Chicago Cubs ace Justin Steele was grabbing his left hamstring after a diving defensive play on a bunt attempt against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

Steele was able to walk off his own power with the trainer, so hopefully, this is more of a cramping/precautionary thing than any related to a knee injury.

Either way, this is not good news for the Northsiders, as Steele was looking dominant through 4.2 innings pitched, with six strikeouts and only one run allowed.

Julian Merryweather replaced Steele with two outs in the fifth inning.

Update: The Cubs announced that Steele's injury is left hamstring tightness.
