Chicago Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber has been honored as a grand marshal for the upcoming BTN Big 10K race in Chicago on August 6.

"It will be a blast to relive my Big Ten days at one of Chicago's best summer tailgates," Schwarber, an All-American at Indiana University, said in a statement via BTN. "I can't wait to see Big Ten and Cubs fans hit the city streets to represent their schools and support Special Olympics Chicago."

Schwarber is currently rehabbing this season with full-time tears of his right ACL and LCL. The injury occurred during an outfield collision with center fielder Dexter Fowler in Arizona on April 7.

In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an outstanding .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season.
