Fan favorite Kyle Schwarber spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon previewing the 2016 World Series featuring the Cubs and Indians.

Schwarber said after he got the medical clearance from the doctor on Monday, he called President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein about the opportunity to play in the World Series. Epstein gave him no promises or guarantees but liked what he saw from Schwarber at the Arizona Fall League. Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and a run scored on Monday afternoon. "It would have killed me not to try," Schwarber about trying to get back to play in the World Series. In 2015, Schwarber hit .246 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs with an excellent .842 OPS in only 69 games (273 at-bats) in his rookie season. In nine career postseason games, he hit .333 with five homers in only nine games.
