Cubs News: Tim McCarver with horrendous calls on Schwarber HR, Lester's pickoff

Long-time announcer Tim McCarver was a former Cardinals player among other teams and was announcing today's 5-3 win for the Cubs over the Cardinals. Obviously, he is still a big fan of the Cardinals but check out the video below as McCarver thought that Lester wouldn't pick off the Cardinals base runner at first base.

"He's NOT going to throw to first base," McCarver said with confidence. Moments later, Lester gets his first pickoff of the season.

It gets more laughable as McCarver stated that Cardinals manager Mike Matheny should leave starter John Leake in the game.

"You can't fault Mike Matheny for leaving Mike Leake in the game right now."

Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber takes the very next pitch for a grand slam and secures the win for the Northsiders. Check out the second video for more of the funny evidence.
