Cubs News: Willson Contreras wins HR derby in Venezuela

Cubs catcher Willson Contreras won the Pepsi Home Run Festival held at Joe Berardo Perez in Valencia, Venezuela on Monday night.

"Beyond winning, I decided to give a message to the fans, especially the little ones in the house," Contreras told reporters. "They must remember that there are no limits when you dream big."

Contreras won the derby with an impressive 33 total homer runs including 9 in the final round.

In 2017, Contreras batted .276 with 21 homers, 74 RBIs, and .356 on-base percentage. For his career, he is batting .278 with 33 homers and 109 RBIs.
