The Chicago Cubs have one of the most diehard fan-bases in all of sports and that is extremely valuable with ticket sales, sponsorship, and television deals.

Forbes released their rankings of MLB team values this week and the Cubs were ranked fourth overall at $3.1 BILLION.

Yes, this is the same team that didn't do any significant moves during the offseason because of budgetary concerns. To be fair, the Cubs already had the second-highest team payroll in all of baseball.

The Top 10 in the rankings were the New York Yankees (4.6 billion), Los Angeles Dodgers (3.3), Boston Red Sox (3.2), Chicago Cubs (3.1), San Francisco Giants (3.0), New York Mets (2.3), St. Louis Cardinals (2.1), Los Angeles Angels (1.9), Philadelphia Phillies (1.850), and Houston Astros (1.775).

According to the study, the average baseball team is now worth $1.78 billion which is an increase of 8 percent than last year.
