Cubs sign former Dodgers infielder

The Chicago Cubs have signed infielder Mike Freeman to a minor league deal on Monday according to multiple reports.

Freeman was placed on the designated for assignment list by the Dodgers after their trade for Yu Darvish with the Rangers was finalized.

He was hitting .306 in 41 games with Triple-A Oklahoma this season. For his limited major league career, he is 7-for-57 with a homer and four RBI in 41 games in two seasons.

The Arizona Diamonds selected him in the 11th round of the 2010 MLB Draft.
