Report: Cubs trading with Mariners for relief help

The Chicago Cubs have acquired LHP Mike Montgomery from the Seattle Mariners for 1B/DH Dan Vogelbach according to multiple reports. There is no specific trade details announced by the Cubs yet

In 61 2/3 innings this season, he gave up 18 runs, 16 earned, on 49 hits with 18 walks and 54 strikeouts. Montgomery was drafted by the Royals in the first round in 2008.

Vogelbach is a hitting machine with the Cubs farm system but his way to the majors was blocked by slugging first baseman Anthony Rizzo.
