The Chicago Cubs announced on Monday that they did not tender a contract to controversial infielder Addison Russell making him a free agent.

Now that it's probably over, I think we can safely say that the Cubs' handling of the Addison Russell situation will live on as a permanent example of what a front office and manager should *not* do or say.
Just from a pure baseball perspective Addison Russell represents a great buy-low opportunity for any MLB team that wants to overtly and gratuitously insult its fan base. Every team looking to show its fans how shitty and cynical it is would benefit from his services.
