CINCINNATI — Celebrating his 30th birthday on Thursday, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo gifted his squad a 1-0 lead with a first-inning RBI double at Great American Ball Park. The 2-out 2-bagger off starter Alex Wood provided the Cubs with an early advantage over the Cincinnati Reds.

Following a 2-out walk by Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, Rizzo hammered a screamer down the first baseline that carried into right field. The ball caromed off the wall, enabling Bryant to score and Rizzo to coast into second base with ease.
