WATCH: Baez drills RBI double that caroms off third base |
Smacked right down the third-base line, an RBI double by Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez provided the Cubs with a 2-0 lead over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. The sixth-inning 2-bagger caromed off the third-base bag and into left field, resulting in Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant scoring from second base.
Coming on a curveball thrown by Angels starter Trevor Cahill, the hard-hit shot provided "Javy" with his second RBI of the afternoon and 36th RBI of the season. Despite his recent dealings with a heel injury, Baez was able to motor around first base and slide headfirst into second base to accrue his 18th double of the year. .@javy23baez drives in his 2nd run of the game!#EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/Bc7Smowrwp
