WATCH: Heyward smashes 400-foot home run

by - Senior Writer -

CHICAGO, Illinois — For the fourth time this season, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward went yard on Wednesday in a battle with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Heyward smashed a 400-footer out beyond center field at the Friendly Confines to break a scoreless start to the game for the Cubs.

Coming against Pirates starter Jordan Lyles, the dinger left the bat at 105 miles per hour and sailed out of the park in a hurry. The solo shot occurred in the bottom of the fifth and made the score 3-1 in favor of the Pirates. Heyward is well on his way to shattering his homer total of eight from last season and is on pace to hit the most home runs that he has hit in a Cubs uniform.
