CHICAGO — Javier Baez, David Bote and Willson Contreras all went yard, and the Chicago Cubs (3-1) won their first meeting of the season with the Milwaukee Brewers (1-3) by the score of 5-3 on Monday. Trevor Williams started on the mound in his Cubs debut and tossed six innings en route to picking up the winning decision at Wrigley Field.

All three aforementioned dingers came in the fourth frame. Contreras broke a scoreless tie with a two-run jack, and Baez and Bote went on to hit back-to-back solo shots later in the inning. An Eric Sogard RBI triple in the seventh provided the Cubs with their fifth run. Baez and Contreras were both hit by pitches on the evening, but the star Cubs were able to remain in the game.
