MILWAUKEE — With his first home run since mid-August, Chicago Cubs center fielder
Jason Heyward provided the Cubs with new life in the top of the ninth on Sunday. Pulling the Cubs to within three runs of the Milwaukee Brewers, Hayward swatted a 2-run bomb at Miller Park that made the score 8-5 in favor of the Brewers.
The towering blast off Brewers reliever Jimmy Nelson sailed 427 feet into the upper deck beyond right field. Marking Heyward's 19th long ball of the season, the 2-run jack, which left the bat at 107 miles per hour and 27 degrees, plated Cubs catcher Willson Contreras, who drew a leadoff walk.
