CHICAGO — A Chicago Cubs newcomer established a new Cubs record on Saturday, as recent call-up Nico Hoerner hit the 236th home run of the Cubs' season. The 236 homers marks a new franchise record for the Cubs, topping the previous high of 235 that was put together in 2004.
Going yard for the second time in as many days, Hoerner took Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Clay Holmes deep for a 3-run blast in the bottom of the sixth. Coming with two outs, the 388-footer sailed out to left at Wrigley Field for Hoerner's second career long ball.
More like Nico HOMER!
