WATCH: Rizzo hammers go-ahead 2-run home run in ninth inning

LOS ANGELES — With just two hits on the evening, the Chicago Cubs trailed the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 entering the ninth inning on Saturday night. Therefore, it came as a surprise when, all of a sudden, the Cubs found themselves leading. Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo hammered a go-ahead home run off elite Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen in the top of ninth, with the 2-run dinger, which served as the Cubs' third hit of the game, putting the Cubs up 2-1.

Hammering his 19th homer of the year, Rizzo smacked a 408-foot no-doubter into the night sky at Dodger Stadium. The moonshot down the right-field line was arced off the bat at an angle of 35 degrees and boasted a 106-mile-per-hour exit velocity. Jansen was not his usual self at the start of the ninth frame, as he hit Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant with his first pitch and then blew the save by getting taken deep on the cutter thrown to Rizzo three pitches later.
