WATCH: Victor Caratini smashes moonshot into upper deck |
NEW YORK — Taking New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom in the top of the second on Thursday, Chicago Cubs first baseman
Victor Caratini walloped a solo dinger into the upper deck at Citi Field. The solo blast made the score 1-1 and marked Caratini's eighth home run of the year.
The towering 377-foot blast left the bat at 38 degrees and sported a 106-degree launch angle. Caratini smacked a slider from deGrom out to right-center field after making perfect contact on the second pitch of the at-bat. Adding a hilarious element to the dinger was Mets right fielder Michael Conforto unnecessarily jumping at the wall in an attempt at catching the towering blast. .@VictorCaratini's game-tying blast!#EverybodyIn pic.twitter.com/WkwdMSDLy5
