CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Conteras tabbed his 16th home run of the season to give the Cubs an early lead against the Atlanta Braves on Monday. Contreras led off the bottom of the second with a 370-footer that landed in the basket above the right-field wall at Wrigley Field.

Driving a four-seamer thrown by Braves starter Julio Teheran out of the park, Contreras skied the moonshot off the bat at an angle of 29 degrees and at a speed of 101 miles per hour. The solo blast put Chicago ahead 1-0 and fired Contreras up, with the backstop drawing the ire of Braves catcher Tyler Flowers as a result.
