Trevor Cahill has gone 65-72 with one save and a 4.13 ERA (497 ER/1083.2 IP) in 212 appearances (173 starts) over seven major league seasons with Oakland (2009-11), Arizona (2012-14), Atlanta (2015) and the Cubs (2015) ... signed with the Cubs last season as a minor league free agent, August 18, and made his Cubs debut in September. Has held righties to a career .244 average (467-for-1,911) while lefties have batted .269 (581-for-2,156). Became only the second pitcher since 1990 to record at least 10 wins and 30 starts in his first four Major League seasons (CC Sabathia, 2001-04). Was an American League All-Star in 2010 with Oakland ... finished ninth in the A.L. Cy Young Award balloting that season. Participated in the 2008 MLB All-Star Futures Game at Yankee Stadium and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Named Oakland's organizational pitcher of the year in 2007 and 2008. Originally drafted by Oakland in the second round of the 2006 Draft ... was traded to Arizona December 9, 2011 in a five-player deal ... traded to Atlanta April 2, 2015 for OF Josh Elander. Graduated from Vista (Calif.) High School where he went 5-4 with a 2.31 ERA and 109 strikeouts his senior season
