Chicago Cubs celebrate Hispanic and Latino Heritage at Wrigley Field

CHICAGO – On Monday, September 16, the Chicago Cubs will host a Hispanic and Latino Heritage Celebration at Wrigley Field which will include pregame festivities at Gallagher Way and on the field before the Cubs take on the Oakland Athletics at 6:40 p.m. CT.

At Gallagher Way, fans can purchase authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, savory Latin American street food and more or learn traditional Latin dances such as salsa and bachata before the game. In addition, fans can take part in various photo opportunities and activities provided by Advocate Health Care.

Inside the ballpark, quesabirria, al pastor pork nachos and ancho-citrus chicken quesadillas will be available for fans to enjoy at the Marquee Taqueria stand near Section 121. In addition, Bud Light Chelada will be served at select concession stands throughout the ballpark.

As part of the pregame festivities, the national anthem will be sung by Mexican American and Chicago native Jesus Ramos, and culinary social media influencer Alfredo Garcia will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Pilsen Neighbors Community Council Executive Director Juan Soto will sing the seventh-inning stretch.

On September 16, the Cubs also will celebrate Roberto Clemente Day and will award New Life Centers of Chicagoland Chief Executive Officer Matt DeMateo with the Clemente Neighborhood Hero Award.

Cubs fans can purchase tickets to the September 16 game through the Hispanic and Latino Heritage Celebration Special Ticket Offer which includes a special-edition cap featuring either the flag from Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico or Venezuela.
