Cubs Corner with Maddie Lee: Cubs talk, MLB lockout and Jon Lester

by - Staff Writer -

On this edition of the Cubs Corner, presented by Coach’s Bar and Grill, Anthony welcomed NBC Sports Chicago’s Maddie Lee to break down all things Cubs, the MLB lockout, Jon Lester, and more.

*Coach’s Bar and Grill is located at 6169 N Northwest Highway on the Northwest Side of Chicago and is open for business this fall. Check out their website or Facebook page for deals during bears games and more.*

The episode began with Maddie outlining the steps in her career that led her to Chicago to be the beat writer for the Cubs on NBC Sports Chicago and now White Sox.

Maddie then discussed what she learned covering the Cubs in 2020-2021 and some of her best memories covering the core that was traded at the 2021 MLB trade deadline. Lee talked about how surprised she was that the entire core was dealt, and she also shared her thoughts about how unlikely it may be for the Cubs to resign some of those players.

After the pair chatted about the current direction of the Cubs, they discussed the MLB lockout, including some things that both sides (the players and owners) will be looking for in their negotiations.

Finally, the two recapped Jon Lester’s career and if he and other players are Hall of Fame Bound.

That and more on this edition of the Cubs Corner.

As always, this episode is available on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, and the CubsHQ website.
