Cubs ranked #1 in ESPN's Power Rankings

by - Senior Editor -

ESPN has released his latest MLB Power Rankings on Monday morning and the Cubs are still on top at the #1 spot with a 29-13 record and currently sitting in first-place in the NL Central with an impressive six-game lead over Pittsburgh.

The Cubs have lost seven of their last 11 games, including three one-run losses.

"The Cubs dodge a major bullet with the announcement that Jason Heyward will miss only a few days after colliding with a wall in San Francisco on Friday night," ESPN said.

The Chicago Cubs start a pivotal three-game road series vs. the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday.

The top 10 teams in ESPN's MLB rankings were the Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox, Washington Nationals, San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Cleveland Indians, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Pittsburgh Pirates were ranked #12 in the rankings which makes three teams in the National League Central in the Top 12.
