Wrigley Field had fans in the stands for the first time since 2019.

Despite the loss, it was a success as there was a sense of normalcy as baseball was played in front of 10,343 die-hard Cubbie faithful.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo spoke to the media following the 5-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates and shared what it meant to play in front of fans again.

"That was incredible," Rizzo said. "I personally just took an extra moment when I took the field to appreciate them being here and their cheers and being able to play in front of them. It was definitely something I’ll never forget taking the field today."

Rizzo finished the game with a double and RBI.
