Anthony Rizzo trolls Reds with hilarious weather-related tweet |
CINCINNATI — Channeling his inner meteorologist, Chicago Cubs first baseman
Anthony Rizzo trolled the Cincinnati Reds with a weather-related tweet on Thursday. With heavy rainfall expected to last through the night in Cincinnati, Rizzo tweeted at the Reds' official Twitter account about when they expected to be able to play Thursday's game.
Originally scheduled to start at 6:10 p.m. local time at Great American Ball Park, the contest had been delayed but not officially postponed at the time of Rizzo's tweet. Rizzo included a weather map in his tweet, which showcased the rainy conditions that were expected to continue for quite some time, and hilariously suggested that the Reds search for "a window" in which the game could be played at Home Depot. Hey @Reds when do you think the window is? Asking for some friends... maybe check at @HomeDepot for one? pic.twitter.com/302NfTuKvw Update: Rizzo later composed another tweet calling out MLB for essentially delaying the inevitable by refusing to postpone the game, thus having the players hang around in the clubhouse for an extended period of time when they should be socially distancing. Player safety? @mlb let’s sit around for 8 plus hours inside the clubhouse.. I’m sure I can find that somewhere in the 113 page player safety protocol.
