Cubs News: CBS developing drama based on Andre Dawson's life as funeral home director

Chicago Cubs fans may be surprised to learn that former Cubs great Andre Dawson, the 1987 National League MVP, has been running a funeral home in Florida for the past 12 years. The Hall of Fame outfielder is currently leading a quiet life as a Miami-area mortician, which, evidently, is an interesting enough sea change for a legendary athlete to warrant a television show.

A funeral home drama is in the works at CBS, and it will be based on Dawson's life. "The Hawk" is working with the production team as a consultant. The show is titled Closure, and there is no word on exactly when the one-hour drama will go to air. As for now, season one is still in the development stage. Dawson's fascinating post-baseball career choice is certainly unique and should make for compelling TV. Read more about the television show here.
