CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today selected left-handed pitcher Kyle Ryan from Triple-A Iowa and optioned right-handed pitcher Cory Abbott to Iowa. To make room for Ryan on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Robert Stock has been designated for assignment.

An original 12th round draft pick of the Detroit Tigers in 2010, Ryan owns a career 13-8 record with a 3.86 ERA (89 ER/207.1 IP) in 180 appearances (seven starts). He has stranded 81 of 115 inherited runners, walked 81 and struck out 141 batters.
